Is carrageenan safe? Follow
Carrageenan is derived from red weed and used in some of our products as a stabilizer to help prevent the natural separation between ingredients within the supplement. There is some controversy regarding the safety of carrageenan, some individuals may believe it can cause inflammation and intestinal distress. However, the FDA has found carrageenan to be a safe food additive with no toxicology symptoms. A review published in the Food Toxicology and Chemistry found that carrageenan does not cause intestinal distress or cause inflammation.
